Four ways to find books
1 Get started by downloading a list of resources for your
level
2 Use the numbers on the shelves to find what you want.
The main numbers for ESOL are:
What exactly
can I borrow?
Q
Q
A
Up to x books
some for 1 week, some for 3
Books are FREE to borrow
But late returns are fined
You can also borrow DVDS
charged @ £x per week
Q
My printing credit
has run out
A
Hmmm....
I used to know this....
Q
What if
the book I need
is currently
unavailable?
A
You can
reserve an item
(so the current borrower
can't renew it)
and if we have it
at another site
it will be sent to your
home learning centre
for you to borrow
Could we record standard
(and ESOL) inductions as
bite-size chunks to put up here? Maybe with help from marketing....
Then if they miss induction or forget
they can still get the info
Take a tour of Victoria LRC
Take a tour of Soho LRC
Take a tour of King's Cross LRC
This example isn't very good - and maybe an interactive floorplan isn't necessary, but
a simple map of each LRC might be
useful?
Can students do everything
(book pcs, renew etc)
via Cirqa?
Or are there other portals?
Would it be worth including
something on how to use it / them?
<< Whatever we end up producing - clip, flip book, word doc, we can put up QR codes on the lockers so students can get on-the-spot
help out of hours
Would something like this this be useful?
(Maybe more so if it did include some of the known issues students have with access)
QR code link could be added to the lockers
Frame 20 onwards of this clip features WKC KX site & students - perhaps this could be edited
into a clip?
